50 links for on, in and around your sleep space. From PJs to nose tape, I hope this encourages your best sleep yet.
In a time of rapid movement towards sleep markers for health, with rings and apps to analyse and digitise our downtime, I thought it might be nice to share a few tangible elements I have found that make sleep a little sweeter.
While my relationship with sleep has always been important, I find it almost impossible to nap during the day (last year, while pregnant, I managed a snooze or two). It's my evenings I’ve naturally prioritised. After some thought, I put this down to being a forever morning person. My nights vastly affect how I wake up the following day.
In Australia, it is common in summer to wake at 6am or earlier to catch the first light. You can witness hordes of people exercising and drinking coffee at dawn, all bustling to get that moment of joy before the workday commences. While I do love a lay-in on holiday, in my everyday perfect world, I wake with the sun, and beyond that, the world is my oyster.
As for falling asleep, my husband often laughs at how quickly I am out. Some nights, while he’s still talking to me and the light is off, I am in deep sleep and unresponsive within minutes.
I do wonder, as I tip tap here on my laptop rambling about my sleep efficiency, how I would go with one of the rings that tells me exactly how I slept, for how long or how deeply. It could be shocking, now that my child is in the mix, so for now I'll keep note the old-fashioned way - asking myself how I feel waking up in the morning.
The answer is, 9 times out of 10.. just fine :)
Now I am of an age where I am putting energy into adding more joy, or dare I say whimsy, into the everyday/night. I figure, why not start here with a gathering of bits that offer a sprinkle of support to your downtime?
Pyjamas
God, I love a PJ set. Just as new runners make us train harder, should a new sleep set help us achieve peak sleep performance? I feel my specialty in the postpartum period was finding pyjamas that are as chic as they are comfortable. Contrast edges, sweet ruffle details, crisp poplin, soft linen, pointelle, prints and stripes - my most loved PJs below.

Sheets
There’s something undeniably smug about a freshly made bed. It fuels a momentary ‘you’ve got your life together’ feeling (even if it’s being made in the evening just before you hop back in). I am a firm believer that nothing quite compares to the feeling of fresh sheets, and at the end of any day, no matter the trials and tribulations, it’s the one place we can truly switch off, reset, and start again tomorrow. Here are a few of my go-to repeat purchases and a few fun moments in between.
